In order to meet the growing demand for extra space, Eawag and Empa jointly constructed Forum Chriesbach in Dübendorf. The members of the Eco Team were consulted from the outset, when the project specification was formulated. Issues of sustainable development were given high priority right from the start. The stipulations were to achieve as high a degree as possible of self-sufficiency in terms of energy supply from renewable energy sources, an exemplary and efficient use of water (including the separation of urine), and the use of environmentally friendly materials and landscaping that provides a beneficial environment for flora and fauna as well as people. Forum Chriesbach became operational in July 2006, since which time it has been the headquarters of Eawag. The Forum Chriesbach is located on the Empa-Eawag site in Dübendorf. The office and research building, which also houses the library, training rooms and the staff canteen, has set new standards in sustainable development. When planning the building, the construction techniques and technology employed pushed the then available systems to their limits. For example, the building uses four times less energy than a conventional building; the office areas are neither heated nor cooled by conventional systems. And the installation of a sophisticated sanitation system - NoMix toilets which separate urine, rainwater used for flushing toilets - means that the latest research results of Eawag are tested in everyday situations. Almost 2000 visitors from Switzerland and abroad come to view the building each year and it has been the subject of numerous media reports and publications The building is a compact entity with a large glass-roofed atrium which allows daylight and - a welcome feature in winter - the heat from the sun to enter the building. The reinforced steel frame construction acts as a heat and cold storage unit, while the interior clay and gypsum walls in the offices regulate air humidity. The escape balconies are accessible from every room and are fitted with the striking blue glass panels which turn to follow the sun and provide shade or let in the sun according to the season. The rooms are distributed in a U shape around the 5-storey atrium which offers a true spatial experience with its suspended meeting cubicles and the open staircase. The reception and exhibition area in the atrium can also be used for major events. A model of the water molecule with an image projection system is the eye-catching feature in the entrance area. The space allocation plan comprises 165 office workstations, a lecture hall for 80–140 persons, 2 seminar rooms for 30–40 persons each, seven meeting rooms for a total of 110 persons, contact areas on four floors with desks and seating areas, the library shared by Eawag and Empa, the aQa staff canteen as well as adjoining rooms and technical service areas.

Their newly refurbished London office, overlooking St Martin’s Square, is home to over 900 staff, who are located over 6 floors. The Brief To complete the office transformation, CBRE wanted to replace their existing automatic doors at the front and rear of the building with stylish doors which were safe, reliable and ensured effortless pedestrian flow. To avoid any disruption to both staff and visitors, doors had to be installed over the Easter Bank Holiday, whilst the office was closed. This compact, elegant operator, which is operated by an access control system, is almost silent in operation and complements the overall look of the reception area. Paul Charman, Operations Manager commented: The revolving doors look impressive and add the finishing touch to the office, whilst helping minimise the level of noise and draft entering the building from outside. The Brief Before re-opening the Abergele store, PetPlace considered a number of solutions and different measures to ensure they were Covid-19 secure, to protect both customers and staff whilst providing reassurance and peace of mind that all new procedures facilitated safe social distancing. The Solution record's FlowControl system was installed on PetPlace's automatic sliding entrance door to control the number of customers entering the store. Whilst the visible surface mounted green and red LED stripes which clearly identify if entry is allowed or denied appealed to PetPlace, the ability to automatically deactivate the entrance door once the pre-defined people count is reached was a deciding factor, as it prevents further access until a customer exits the building. The architecture has been designed to allow for the highest possible integration into the environment and you will not really notice the modern one. In order to achievve this, special custom-made record doors were used which were angled, running into walls or completley "standard" integrated into a glass facade. To enable the total integration of the doors into the beautiful architecture, underfloor drives were used to create an angled door. Not only the animals are worth a visit to Switzerland's largest zoo, but also the architecture offers the visitor anexperience of a wonderful journey without leaving Switzerland.

This stunning facility has just made pounding the pavement and riding to work a little easier. record Automatic Doors were engaged to carry out the installation of three STA 21 automatic door operators. Working closely with Enfold, record assisted in ensuring the project was delivered on time and an aesthetically pleasing installation was achieved. The Bike entry consisted of a single sliding STA 21 operator with an aluminium door and frame. A custom designed screen was installed to visually enhance this entry as well as provide ventilation and security. Splügen – wo sich Wege treffen. Eingebettet in den Bündner Bergen, am Fusse der Pässe Splügen und San Bernardino, liegt das charakteristische Dorf Splügen schon seit Jahrhunderten an einer Verbindungsroute nach Italien. Beide Pässe wurden schon zu Römerzeiten regelmässig begangen. Grosse Bedeutung bekamen die Saumwege im Mittelalter, als Handelsgüter auf Saumtieren über die Alpen transportiert wurden. Der Transitort galt bis ins 19. Jh. als wichtiger Warenumschlagplatz und ist noch heute ein beliebter Rastplatz. Das Hotel Bodenhaus ist seit seiner Errichtung 1722 ein wichtiger Bestandteil von Splügen. Das imposante und markante Bauwerk diente ursprünglich als Lagerraum für Transportgüter, beherbergte die Poststation und bot schon damals Unterkunft und Verpflegung für Reisende an. Dank sorgfältigen Renovationen in den letzten Jahren hat das Hotel seinen ursprünglichen Charakter wiedergewonnen und bietet Geniessern und Aktiven Erholung in historischer Atmosphäre. Die automatische Schiebetüre des Windfangs ist ebenfalls schon seit Jahrzehnten im Einsatz und verrichtet tüchtig seine Dienste. Doch wie bei allem nagt auch der Zahn der Zeit an der Elektronik, sodass eine Modernisierung nötig erschien. Um nicht die komplette Eingangstüre zu ersetzen und die noch intakten Flügel zu behalten, entschied man sich für eine Modernisierung mittels STA 20 Upgrade. Bei dieser Modernisierung werden alle Bestandteile einer Türe wiederverwendet, die noch in sehr gutem Zustand sind und so können Kosten gespart und Zeit gewonnen werden. So auch im Hotel Bodenhaus in Splügen konnte die riesige Glasfront wiederverwendet werden und dies mit neuster Technologie aus dem Hause record.

Unweit der schönen Pisten und Trails des Ferien Resorts Laax, steht das 4 Sterne Hotel Laaxerhof. Ein Hotel im Bündner Baustil mit allem was das Touristenherz begehrt. For the York Street lobby entrance of the Dexus owned 26 storey commercial office building at 44 Market Street Sydney, a 4000mm diameter record Diamond Series revolving door was installed as part of significant building refurbishment works undertaken by Growthbuilt and designed by Wood Bagot. Installing a glass roof revolving door to an existing building is always challenging and this required record’s experienced management and installation teams to work closely with Growthbuilt to ensure the drive system could be mounted to the underside of the structural slab. Due to existing obstructions the revolving door needed to be rotated 5 degrees to ensure it could fit without require major modification works to other building services. To minimise the external presence of the revolving door entrance, it was placed completely within the facade glazing line, which combined with the full frameless glass design of the Diamond Series, results in a minimalistic but highly functional automatic door entrance design.

Die Raststätte Bavois Nature liegt an der A1 auf halbem Weg zwischen Lausanne und Yverdon-les-Bains und bietet einen einmaligen Blick auf die Orbe-Ebene und den Gipfel des Suchet. Die bestehende Eingangstüre dieser Raststätte war in die Jahre gekommen und musste ersetzt werden. Mit der record K21 Karusselltüre mit eingebauter Schiebetüre, konnte dem Wunsch der Bauherrschaft nach Ersatz und vor allem Umbau, ohne dabei die angrenzenden Gewerke berühren zu müssen, Rechnung getragen werden. Die eingebaute Schiebetüre in der Mitte des Karussells ermöglicht es dem Betreiber bei geplanten hohen Frequenzen, sowie im Sommer zwecks Kühlung, die Karusselltüre in einen Eingang mit Schiebetüre automatisch umzustellen. Die record K21 bietet genug Platz und Sicherheit um die Gäste ohne Einschränkung nach drinnen oder draussen zu befördern. The Centenary Project at the Anzac Memorial was initiated as part of the 100th anniversary of the First World War to fulfil two main objectives - completing the original architectural vision, which had at the time been hindered as a result of the Great Depression, as well as add new education, interpretation and civic spaces underground. The project was delivered by Built and designed by Johnson Pilton Walker in collaboration with the NSW Government Architect’s office. record Automatic Doors supplied and installation five STA 20 automatic sliding door operators, supporting frameless glass door panels. At the centre of these extension works is the Hall of Service, a civic space that architecturally and artistically mirrors the Hall of Silence, while recognising more than a century of service by Australian servicemen and servicewoman. It functions as a greeting and orientation space for the public, including tour groups and school children; and as a venue for ceremonies and functions, flowing onto exhibition galleries and education facilities. Within this space a record STA 20 bi-parting automatic sliding door was installed to the entrance from the ground floor of the Anzac Memorial. To the side of the Hall of Service is the Centenary Exhibition gallery, illustrating the evolution of Australian military service, with a focus on the personal stories of NSW service. The $50 million refurbishment of ISPT’s Grade A commercial tower Casselden included a complete ground floor lobby renewal to provide a more modern appearance and improved access for tenants and visitors. An impressive 11 metre high frameless glass assembly provides a striking entry focal point and to ensure large groups of people can enter and exit the building at the same time, whilst still maintaining an entrance airlock, two very large 4200mm diameter Fullview revolving doors were selected in a mirror stainless steel finish. To maximise the transparency of this entrance, and blend in with the surrounding glazing, the Fullview revolving doors were specially engineered with a mild steel structural framework within the door canopy, rather than the standard welded aluminium, along with larger 100 SHS steel support posts at each entrance. This allowed the doors to be utilised by the glazing contractor to support the dead load weight of their structural glass fins, avoiding the requirement for a separate portal framework or transom beam that would detract from the frameless appearance of the entrance. Further customisation of the standard door design was also undertaken with the curved glass sidewalls recessed glazed into the floor (rather than an exposed bottom rail), with a silicon butt joint in the middle to maximise the door transparency.

Die Umgestaltung mehrerer Abteilungen, wie der Entbindungsstation und der Tagesklinik, erfolgte durch das Architekturbüro k-architects aus Carouge, welche die Bedürfnisse der Klinik, des Platzes und der bestehenden Struktur in Einklang bringen und diese Renovierung in einer Betriebsklinik durchführen musste. Die Klinik verfügt über den neuesten Stand der Technik bei gleichzeitig hohem architektonischen Niveau. Durch die Möglichkeit der Kombination der Anforderungen an die Türen konnte record Türatutomation AG dem Kunden das passende Produktportfolio anbieten. Für die beiden Operationssäle der Tagesklinik mussten die Eingangstüren aufgrund des begrenzten Platzangebots in diesem Bereich des Gebäudes feuerfest, luftdicht und platzsparend sein. Die CLEAN K1-A T30 Record-Türen sind genau die Lösung, die diese Klinik gesucht hat. CLEAN-Türen sind hermetisch dicht, um den Luftstrom zu steuern und müssen gleichzeitig feuerfest sein, um den Bereich abzugrenzen. The redevelopment of the Grade A commercial building 2 Market Street Sydney, completed in 2007 was a culmination of four phases including a new six storey commercial building and upgraded lobby entrances to both the Market Street and Kent Street frontages. record Fullview Series revolving doors were selected by the architects for both of these entrances. At Kent Street an imposing 4200mm diameter 4 wing revolving door, in a linished stainless steel finish, was installed to maximise pedestrian traffic flow. At 4190mm high, the revolving door spans the full height of the lobby entrance with custom designed frosted glass ceiling panels, illuminated from within the canopy, providing a striking entrance feature. For the Market Street entrance, a smaller 3000mm 3 wing diameter Fullview Series door, in a powdercoat finish, was installed with the standard aluminium fixed ceiling panels and LED spot lighting within the centre rotating ceiling.

201 Kent Street, Sydney

The much anticipated foyer refurbishment of Investa’s 201 Kent Street commercial office building, designed by Architectus, was completed in November 2017 and features automatic revolving, sliding and swing door operators by record Automatic Doors. The frameless glass sliding door entrance has an STA 20 automatic operator, mounted to steel portal structure, clad in Rimex bead blasted stainless steel with 15mm clear toughened glass door panels, provided by the facade contractor Jamesco. The operator is connected to the building’s remote security system and fire trip, with battery backup provided as standard to meet egress requirements under the BCA. In addition to this sliding door, record installed a 4200mm diameter Fullview revolving door and an in floor mounted swing door operator for after hours and disabled access requirements at the other end of the lobby.

For the Pacific Highway entrance to redeveloped Northpoint Tower in North Sydney, a record Automatic Doors was engaged to supply and install a Fullview Series revolving door in a black powdercoat finish. To provide additional free egress in an emergency, an automatic wind back door wing was provided, with UPS battery backup to ensure operation in the event of a power failure. This unique windback feature can be activated automatically via a Fire Trip or BMS signal, or via a secondary key switch mounted on the internal door mullion (pictured below). When you walk up the two level spiral staircase at One Melbourne Quarter you are greeted by a beautiful sky garden oasis as well as a record Diamond Series revolving door at the main entrance to the Arup Melbourne office. A world class office precinct in Melbourne’s South-Eastern suburbs, Caribbean Park has been designed, developed, built and managed by the Spooner family, who have been dedicated in transforming the park for three generations. Awarded the Best Business Park as part of the Property Council Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards for 2018, the latest building in this development, 26 Lake Caribbean Boulevard, offers cutting edge smart office design nestled within beautifully landscape gardens. For the main entries, record Automatic Doors was engaged to supply and install four Diamond Series revolving doors to provide an air locked entry to help in the meeting of energy efficiency target. For ease of installation and ongoing service and maintenance requirements the drive motors for these doors were mounted to the underside of the concrete slab with access from the carpark level below. To minimise visual disruption the standard freestanding bollards used for the mounting of the slow speed and emergency stop buttons were deleted with the slow speed button not fitted externally, after consultation with the building certifier, and the emergency stop and slow speed buttons mounted to wall cladding within the lobby next to each revolving door. For the adjacent frameless glass swing doors at each entrance, necessary for meeting disable access and emergency egress requirements, record supplied and installed their C 127 concealed automatic swing door operator, mounted within the floor setdown with a linished stainless steel cover plate for operator access. After completion of this stage of the Caribbean Park development, record Automatic Doors now has a total of 10 revolving doors across the first two stages as well as the cafe and function centre within the precinct.

When the team at Bates Smart in Melbourne wanted record Diamond Series revolving doors to the plaza entry of 360 Collins Street, to match the doors installed to the main entry, but weren’t able to because of existing floor slab restrictions, we set to work designing a new revolving door that would be as frameless as possible, while still have the drive motor mounted above in a conventional canopy design. The result is record’s latest revolving door model, the Hybrid Series, which features frameless glass sidewalls recessed into the floor, like the Diamond Series, but with a solid canopy on top, like the Fullview Series. Without standard entry posts, freestanding bollards are required at each entry for the slow speed and emergency stop buttons.

The NSW Forensic Medicine & Coroners Court will be relocated in early 2019 from its existing home in the inner city suburb of Glebe to Lidcombe, in Sydney’s western suburbs. The new facility, an NSW Government partnership between NSW Health and NSW Justice was designed by Silver Thomas Hanley in conjunction with Cox Architecture, will be much larger and feature spacious support facilities, counseling rooms and private waiting areas to provide a more comfortable environment for grieving families. Responding to requirements for a seismically advanced building, Studio Pacific Architecture adopted a modern diagrid structural system which has been flexed to create a subtle faceted curve on the building’s main facade. Dangrove is a specialised art storage and operations facility, purpose built for the White Rabbit Gallery, owners of one the worlds most impressive private collections of contemporary Chinese art. Designed by Tzannes and delivered by Infinity Constructions, the imposing space is a departure from traditional warehouse design, with the ability to not only store and display artwork in climate controlled conditions, but also host private functions. record Automatic Doors was engaged to supply and install three C 127 in floor mounted automatic swing door operators to the main ground floor entry as well as to pivot doors in the Level 1 space. With polished concrete floors throughout, special care was required to set out and install the stainless steel floor box enclosures prior to the concrete pours. Stainless steel cover plates were used for operator access, complementing the stark design aesthetic. For one of the automatic swing doors, installed next to a series of frameless manual doors, specially designed pivot patch plates were manufactured to house the pivot strap of the C 127 in the most frameless design possible, negating the requirement for full length bottom rails.

The Rail Operations Centre in Alexandria is a NSW Government Initiative, designed by Smart Design Studio in collaboration with Jacobs and delivered by AW Edwards, to modernise and centralise the management of the Sydney train network in an effort to minimise delays and improve information flow. The state-of-the-art control centre is housed in a four storey architecturally designed red brick building with striking arches that symbolically reflect historical railway bridges and the industrial heritage of the Alexandria area. For the main lobby entrance, setback from this brick façade, a record Diamond Series revolving door was installed with its full frameless glass design and recessed position within the glazing line allowing the door to provide the necessary energy efficiency benefits of an airlocked entrance, without detracting from the bold design theme of the surrounding finishes. The revolving door has cladding trims in charcoal pearl powdercoat aluminium to match the surrounding mullion framing and a floor mat in black matting and aluminium framing, removable to provide access to the drive system mounted within a floor pit formed in the concrete slab. Being a NSW Government project, record Automatic Doors was proud to be able provide a revolving door manufactured in the local area at its Seven Hills factory.

The redevelopment of George Place, in the heart of the Sydney CBD, created a super lobby, combining the ground floor levels of 345 and 363 George Street, as well as 24 York Street. The landmark project was designed by Fender Katsalidis Mirams and delivered by FDC, with record Automatic Doors supplying the revolving doors to the George Street entries, as well as automatic sliding doors to other entries. The Diamond Series revolving doors, 3200mm diameter x 3400mm high, were selected by the architects due to their full frameless glass design allowing them to blend in with the modular framed construction of the surrounding glass assembly and external awning. With the doors positioned directly below the structural beam of this framework, the glass roofs were supplied in low iron laminated glass, with a white dot frit pattern on the lower glass face and a solid white frit on the upper face. Maintaining the multi-colour lighting theme of the other lobby finishes to the wall and ceiling, LED strip lighting was installed to the edges of the glass roofs to provide coloured accents to the edges with aluminium capping in a medium bronze powdercoat aluminium finish. The existing concrete slabs were not able to accommodate the drive motors within the floor setdown so record mounted these to the underside, connected via extended drive shafts and accessible via the plant rooms below.

A modern acute hospital with functional solutions, good room allocations and short connecting routes was built on the existing hospital site. The new building enables optimised operational and process flows. These are decisive for the staffing requirements, the future operating costs and the process quality. In order to ensure high quality medical and nursing services in the future, a new hospital building was necessary. The building fabric and the infrastructure of the hospital (ventilation, water, medical gas and electrical lines) were getting on in years. The building and room structures, which were over forty years old, no longer met today's needs and requirements. In the new building, the operational processes are optimised and adapted to modern medicine and its requirements. In addition, the economic efficiency of the service company will be increased. Losinger Marazzi was commissioned with the complete planning and implementation of the new building as part of a total contractor contract. This regional hospital with approx. 180 beds was handed over to the hospital management after a construction period of almost 3.5 years. The Platforms at Royal Randwick is the outdoor viewing area on Level 3 of the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand however in high wind conditions, the existing automatic swing doors providing access to this area were proving to be problematic so record Automatic Doors was engaged to provide an alternative door solution. The narrow passageway of this particular door opening and the internal floor levels adjacent meant upgrading to an automatic sliding door would not possible so instead a new bi-folding door entrance was designed to provide fast acting door automatic operation, whilst minimising disruption to the surrounding glass facade and internal floor finishes. To support the record FTA 20 operator it is bolted through the existing glass highlights at the head while the side framing is clamped onto the existing sidelight glazing with black aluminium plates.

Stockland Wendouree Shopping Centre

For the main entrance of the $37 million redevelopment of the Stockland Wendouree Shopping Centre, the in house design team at Stockland were keen for a large automatic sliding door entrance to maximise the clear opening space leading into the centre’s casual dining precinct. record Automatic Doors was able to offer an imposing telescopic bi-parting sliding door entrance, utilising it’s heavy duty TSA 22 operator which is housed within a 200mm high aluminium pelmet. With a door height of 3350mm and clear passage width of 5900mm, aluminium framed door panels with 11.52mm bandit proof glass were used with door panels weighing in excess of 150kg each (600kg total). To ensure consistently smooth door operation, even high winds, the leading door wings are supported at the bottom edge by a recessed in-floor track. To provide the building manager with greater flexibility to reduce the clear opening width during cold and windy weather conditions a summer/winter mode setting was also provided with activation via a locally mounted key switch.

When the existing foyer entry to No 2 Elizabeth Plaza in North Sydney was upgraded in 2012 the generic straight sliding door entrance was replaced with a striking curved frameless glass entrance with an illuminated curved glass feature cylinder above. The curved sliding doors are 2500mm high and 1500mm wide with the record RST curved operator mounted to a steel portal frame that is also supporting the curved frosted glass panels of the cylinder glazing above.

Racing Victoria

Looking to upgrade the existing main entrance curved sliding door entrance to its Flemington headquarters, Racing Victoria approached record Automatic Doors to offer advice and potential automatic door solutions. The least disruptive of those solutions was to remove the existing door and replace with a new curved sliding door entrance of the same height and diameter, so as to avoid any changes being required to the surrounding glazing or floor finishes. A submission with various cost options was submitted with Racing Victoria choosing a custom extended canopy fascia to allow the mounting of activation and safety sensors to the underside of the canopy, rather than on the curved front of the canopy, as well as a natural anodised cladding finish and grey tinted glass to match the existing facade, sourced from local suppliers. To make the entrance as transparent as possible frameless curved glass door wings were used with slimline profile entry posts, only necessary for the mounted of push buttons, card readers and key switches. Disruption to the building operations and occupants was minimised by record tradesman commencing the site works on Friday afternoon, working extended hours over the weekend and completing the works on the Monday.

Working the architects, record designed a very large 4000mm diameter x 4250mm high revolving door, with sidewalls that were a combination of solid bronze cladding and frameless glazing. The redevelopment of Northpoint Tower, originally constructed in 1977 in the heart of North Sydney was officially opened in March 2018 with the centre featuring a new boutique hotel, Woolworths supermarket, food court, specialty shops and the existing commercial office tower at 100 Miller Street. record Automatic Doors was engaged to supply twelve automatic sliding door systems to all main entrances, as well as a Fullview Series revolving door to the commercial tower entrance. To maximise the clear opening width of many of these entrances record’s TSA 20 and TSA 22 telescopic sliding door operators were used, with the small height of the record operators, smooth operation and large weight capacity of the track and drive system, appealing features. The largest sliding door entrance in the complex is the food court entry, “Eat Street” off the Pacific Hwy, with two synchronised single sliding TSA 22 telescopic operators used due to the longer track and door leaf weights. With a clear opening width of 6000mm and height of 2800mm, each frameless glass door panel weighs 160kg and due to the larger width a full recessed guide channel in the floor was designed and installed by record to provide greater door security and performance, particularly in higher wind loads.

With the existing automatic swing doors to the outdoor terrace of the Moet & Chandon Room, on Level 4 of Royal Randwick Racecourse, unable to operate with the high wind loads of such an exposed location, record Automatic Doors was engaged to provide an alternative solution. It was clear that instead of swing doors, an automatic sliding door would be a more appropriate entrance system but the main challenge was incorporating the sliding door operator within the existing frameless glass facade. To minimise extension modification to this existing work to accommodate the new operator, record custom designed and fabricated a slimline support framework that was clamped to the existing glass sidelights and highlight. The STA 20 DUO sliding door operator was selected due to its high capacity motor and track design, needing to support bi-parting door panels 2620mm high x 1300mm wide in 17.52mm toughened laminated glass, coupled with an aesthetically pleasing 160mm high pelmet design to minimise visible disruption from the function room overlooking the racetrack. With the existing twin automatic sliding door entries providing minimal respite from the strong cold winds from University Square across the road, The University of Melbourne determined that revolving doors needed to installed to provide a much needed airlock and help the building maintain a consistent temperature regarding of the external weather conditions. With the assistance of record, FPPV Architecture designed the new upgrade entries where the existing external automatic sliding door, and the surrounding frameless glass assembly, would be maintained with the revolving doors positioned further back within the lobby, underneath the existing portal frame structure. Diameters of 3600mm for the West entry and 3000mm for the East entry were provided to work within the constraints of the existing entries and position of a nearby staircase. As the revolving doors cannot provide necessary disabled access, after hours access or emergency egress requirements, new frameless glass swing doors were also provided by record, automated with record DFA 127 operators. To provide additional free egress in an emergency, automatic wind back door wings were provided to each door, with UPS battery backup to ensure operation in the event of a power failure.

The extensive refurbishment of the basement area at Memocorp’s prestigious 259 George Sydney Sydney, into a luxurious end of trip facility, has been undertaken in several stages to minimise disruption to the building tenants for each stage automatic swing and sliding door entrances from record Automatic Doors have been prominently featured. ‘Zephyr’ has taken the end of trip trend to new heights, from the purely practical, to the positively indulgent. The stark black and white theme is striking to behold with while tiled walls, polished concrete floors, minimalist black aluminum framing and frameless glass used for the sliding door entrances. For the refurbished government offices of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in Chatswood, record Automatic doors was selected to undertake the supply and installation of the automatic door package. This office fitout is classified as a Level 2 Security Zone, under physical security management guidelines, and the record STA 21au sliding door operator, and DFA 127 swing door operator, was assessed by several agencies and approved for use in this Government project. The works consisted of the three STA 21au automatic single sliding door operators, with aluminium framed door wings, to the main lift lobby entrance and staff office entries. The doors were configured to work off security card swipe externally and push to exit buttons internally with the main entry also able to operate off radar sensors during business hours. As standard the operators are fitted with battery backup to ensure fail safe operation in an emergency or power failure. Also included in the package was four DFA 127 automatic swing door operators to the entry / meeting rooms and accessible bathrooms. The bathroom doors were configured to operate via record’s accessible bathroom control plate system with a push to open button and occupancy LED indicator lights outside, and a push to lock button and lock indicator lights mounted inside. The secured meeting room doors operate via card reader outside and push button inside.

The much anticipated foyer refurbishment of Investa’s 201 Kent Street commercial office building, designed by Architectus, was completed in November 2017 and features automatic revolving, sliding and swing door operators by record Automatic Doors. Having installed the two existing Fullview revolving doors during a previous upgrade in 1998, record was excited to work with Architectus on the design of the new revolving door entrance with a new custom circular lighting feature integrated into the ceiling of the door canopy. Never before undertaken in a revolving door in Australia, the internal ceiling support structure of the revolving door needed to be modified by record’s Sydney tradesman to support the LED light housing, supplied by Prolicht. The cladding finishes to the 4200mm diameter x 3500mm high revolving door was also customised with the canopy fascia, roof and door framing clad in Granex bead blasted stainless steel, supplied by Rimex, while the ceiling panels are aluminium powdercoated in a Interpon D2015 bronze pearl matt finish. In addition to the revolving door, record also provided a C 127 infloor mounted automatic swing door operator and two STA 20 automatic sliding door operator to other entrances to the lobby, working with the façade contractor Jamesco, who provided the impressive frameless glass façade and portal framing.

Designed by Nettleton Tribe and constructed by Buildcorp, Workplace6 is a six storey commercial office building located on the Harbour foreshore in the inner Sydney suburb of Pyrmont. In 2008 it was the first office development in NSW to achieve a 6 Star Green Star ratings for Design and As Built. After 9 years of operation from the existing revolving door entrance, the building owners, GPT Group, engaged record Automatic Doors to undertake a comprehensive door upgrade that would minimise disruption to the surrounding flooring, glazing and cladding finishes, whilst providing a more reliable entrance system supported by record’s industry leading revolving door experience and service support. The most cost effective solution was to maintain the existing canopy and sidewall structure, with record’s team of local tradesman modifying the internal canopy framework to accept our Fullview Series drive system. The rotating carousel was upgraded with record’s frameless glass centre design with a new electronic control system, which was custom designed in record’s Sydney factory, to accept a combination of new record safety sensors, while still utilising some of the doors existing infrared and contact sensors After completing in works in under 6 weeks from receipt of a purchase order the building owners effectively have a new revolving door entrance, with a new door warranty, at a much cheaper price than a complete new revolving door.

Hoch über dem Lago di Lugano thront das neuste Bauwerk des Stararchitekten Mario Botta. An der Grenze zwischen Italien und der Schweiz, genauer gesagt oberhalb von Mendrisio, steht das komplett renovierte Bergrestaurant. Die moderne Architektur passt sich sehr gut in die Bauweise der Umgebung ein. Trotz starken und ungewöhnlichen Kanten, wurde beim Bau dieses Gebäudes genauestens darauf geachtet, dass dieses moderne Bauwerk in die traditionelle Materialisierung der Umgebung passt. Bei einem solchen Bau wurden auch moderne Materialien verwendet, um die Energieeffizienz des Gebäudes zu optimieren. So vereinen die Gläser, welche von der Firma Galvolux geliefert und verbaut wurden, neben Wärmeschutz auch Sonnenschutz, um im Winter die Wärme im Gebäude zu belassen und im Sommer die Wärme nicht eindringen zu lassen. Genau in einem solchen Gebäude fanden auch die thermisch getrennten Schiebetüren record THERMCORD ihr Anwendungsgebiet. Durch die thermisch getrennten Profile, gepaart mit der filigranen Bauweise, konnten die architektonischen Herausforderungen mit den Anforderungen an die Gebäudehülle vereint werden. Die Firma Galvolux verbaute die Türen auf 1704müM, dabei wurde dem Druckausgleich der Gläser besonders Beachtung geschenkt, da die klimatischen Bedingungen auf einer solchen Höhe nicht die gleichen sind wie unten im Tal. Das Gebäude erstrahlt seit dem Sommer 2017 in neuem Glanz und ist ein Besuchermagnet für die Region. Ob jemand mittels Zahnradbahn oder einer sportlichen Bergwanderung die Spitze erreicht, jeder Besucher wird durch die atemberaubende Aussicht belohnt.

The new home of the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services, at Tuggeranong Office Park in Greenway ACT was officially opened in September 2017. Designed by Nettleton Tribe and built by FDC Construction and Fitout, the 38000 sqm building has a capacity for 2500 staff and is a world class facility with a focus on connectivity and efficiency. The development is aiming for a 5 Star Green Star rating and to assist in this goal a revolving door was required at the main lobby entrance to maintain a consistent air lock. A large Fullview Series revolving door, 3800mm diameter x 3500mm high was selected due to Record’s ability to custom design and manufacture the door canopy structure to support the dead load weight of the glass fins and frameless glazing above the door. Working with the glazing contractor, Façade Innovations, the revolving door was custom designed and built with an integrated steel portal frame. Unlike typical installations, where the door is installed last, in this case the revolving door was installed first, with the frameless glazing subsequently installed around it. To meet the high security requirements of a Federal Government project, the revolving door is fitted with mechanical key locking, endorsed by the Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC).

Seniorenzentrum Schönthal, Füllinsdorf - Alles unter einem Dach

In der Region Nordwestschweiz, genauer gesagt in Füllinsdorf wurde mit dem Ausbau des Seniorenzentrums Schönthal ein Bauprojekt realisiert, welches es ermöglicht alle Angebote «unter einem Dach» zu vereinen, die auf die aktuellen und künftigen Bedürfnisse und Wünsche älterer Menschen ausgerichtet sind. Darüber hinaus war bei der Entwicklung des Bauprojektes wichtig, dass die Erweiterung nicht nur dem Heim, sondern auch den beiden Trägergemeinden Füllinsdorf und Frenkendorf sowie im Speziellen dem Gebiet Schönthal einen Nutzen bringt. Die Pflegeabteilung wird durch 7 Zimmer pro Geschoss, durch zwei Wohngruppen für Menschen mit Demenz sowie durch 12 Zimmer im neu erstellten Pavillon erweitert. Ebenfalls erweitert werden die Aufenthaltsräume Flügel Mitte und Flügel Ost. Dank dieser baulichen Massnahmen können, die sehr weitläufigen Geschosse in übersichtliche Wohngruppen unterteilen werden. Mit dem Wohnturm entstanden 48 Mietwohnungen für betreutes Wohnen im Alter. Zusätzlich sind öffentliche Nutzungen geplant: ein vom Heimbetrieb getrenntes Restaurant mit Cafeteria, ein Raum für Veranstaltungen, Gesellschaften und Tagungen sowie Räumlichkeiten für Physiotherapie, Coiffeur und Podologie. Ein öffentlicher Fussgängersteg mit Lift wird das Seniorenzentrum Schönthal mit dem Bahnhof verbinden. So entstand ein lebendiges Zentrum zwischen den beiden Gemeinden. Im Bereich der Alterspflege spielen automatische Türsysteme eine wichtige Rolle. Besonders der Aspekt der Barrierefreiheit spielt eine wesentliche Rolle. Wenn es um das Nachrüsten von bestehenden oder auch dem Automatisieren von neuen Drehflügeltüren geht, kommt der DFA 127 in seinen verschiedensten Varianten zum Einsatz. Die robuste Bauweise gepaart mit einer sehr breiten Anwendungsmöglichkeit macht den DFA 127 zum idealen Antrieb für Seniorenzentren oder Spitäler.

Their newly refurbished London office, overlooking St Martin’s Square, is home to over 900 staff, who are located over 6 floors. The Brief To complete the office transformation, CBRE wanted to replace their existing automatic doors at the front and rear of the building with stylish doors which were safe, reliable and ensured effortless pedestrian flow. To avoid any disruption to both staff and visitors, doors had to be installed over the Easter Bank Holiday, whilst the office was closed. The Solution Two record K41 stainless steel four-leaf revolving doors constructed from glass to provide a modern, minimalistic look were installed. Complete with built in safety features activated by infrared detectors, the revolving doors have been programmed to operate once a door leaf is manually pushed. This not only allows all staff and visitors to pass through the turnstiles safely and easily before they rotate back to a standstill but provides energy savings as the doors are only activated when used and not by passers-by on the busy road and square outside. A stainless steel swing door complete with a record DFA 127 operator has also been installed next to revolving door at the main entrance to provide a wider opening for disabled access and deliveries of large, bulky items to the premises. This compact, elegant operator, which is operated by an access control system, is almost silent in operation and complements the overall look of the reception area. Paul Charman, Operations Manager commented: "the revolving doors look impressive and add the finishing touch to the office, whilst helping minimise the level of noise and draft entering the building from outside. Despite extremely tight deadlines, record installed all doors on time, due to excellent planning and co-ordination".

Introducing the new entrance to Meriton’s head office in Sydney, featuring a record DFA 127 automatic swing door operator. Working directly with Meriton’s in house design team, the existing manual swing doors were replaced with a pair of frameless glass doors, one being larger to create an automatic entrance meeting necessary DDA requirements. To provide a striking entrance feature, record organised for the Meriton logo to be custom crafted into brass back to back door handles, weighing 20kg each, and mounted to the door wings. Voor een hotel dat huist in een opvallend gebouw en doet denken aan het bekende New Yorkse Flatiron Building, letterlijk vertaald 'strijkijzergebouw', zocht men naar een geautomatiseerde entree waarbij de volledige doorgangsbreedte benut wordt. De oplossing kwam in de vorm van de record E-FTA enkele vouwdeur. Het Linden Hotel ligt op slechts 800 meter van het Anne Frank Huis en de Westerkerk. Het hotel is gevestigd in een historisch 18e-eeuws gebouw in de Jordaan in Amsterdam. Het hotel is gerenoveerd in 2013 en heeft kamers met een zithoek, een eigen badkamer, een flatscreen-tv en koffie- en theefaciliteiten. In de ochtend worden de gasten verwend met een continentaal ontbijt. Op 200 meter afstand vindt men tramhalte Nieuwe Willemstraat, die verbindingen biedt naar het Haarlemmerplein. At Exchange Tower (2 The Esplanade) a 40 storey skyscraper originally constructed in 1991 a progressive floor by floor refurbishment has culminated in a major revamp of the ground floor plaza, undertaken by CDI Group. With a very short time deadline being set to achieve completion prior to Christmas, record was able to push the manufacture of the door components through our Sydney factory and sourcing Australian made glass to complete the works in under 8 weeks. Considering the size of the building and number of occupants a 3600mm diameter door was selected custom designed to slot within the existing white cladded portal frameless shaping the entrance. The maximise the door size at the entrance the revolving door was positioned completely within the foyer space with the glass roof stopping short and butting against the underside of the portal which forms part of the door roof. The Middleman Cafe & Function Centre, at the Caribbean Park Office Park in Scoresby, previously had two pairs of automatic swing doors to the entries that were struggling to operate in high winds. record Automatic Doors was selected to remove these swing doors and replace with two manually operated Diamond Series revolving doors to provide a more reliable entrance that also provides an important airlock buffer from the external winds and cold temperatures. Die ERNE AG Holzbau installierte für die Privatklinikgruppe Hirslanden zwei hochmoderne Operations-Zentren an den Klinikstandorten St. Gallen und Luzern. Zur Überbrückung und um den gesteigerten Ansprüchen an OPs gerecht zu werden, entschied sich die Klinikgruppe für temporäre Modul-Lösungen von ERNE AG Holzbau. Ausgestattet mit OP-Sälen, Vorbereitungs- und Materialräumen und einer autonomen Technikzentrale schliessen sich die mobilen Module nahtlos an die bestehenden Gebäude an. Die bis zu 36 Tonnen schweren und komplexen Stahl-Module wurden zu einem hohen Grad im Werk vorgefertigt und dann per Schwerlast-LKW an die Standorte gebracht. Dadurch konnten Störungen im laufenden Klinikbetrieb minimiert und die Ausbauzeit vor Ort sehr kurz gehalten werden. Durch eine gut koordinierte Konzept-, Planungs- und Ausführungsphase, ergänzt durch ein kompetentes Projektteam aus Projektleitern, Planern, Zeichnern und Monteuren wurden die neuen OP-Zentren bereits nach 7-8 Monaten ab Auftragsvergabe in Betrieb genommen. Die Operationssäle sind mit den modernsten Ausstattungen ausgerüstet und das Raumklima wird durch eine integrierte Technikzentrale gesteuert. Dabei bilden die hermetisch Dichten OP-Türen von record einen wichtigen Bestandteil. At St George’s Square (225 St Georges Terrace) a Grade A commercial building constructed in 1990, a full lobby upgrade was undertaken by FDC Construction with the existing ornate timber revolving doors to both the front and rear entries replaced with sleek all glass Diamond Series revolving doors, specified by Woods Bagot. To ensure the building could remain operational through the 16 week programme the works needed to be heavily staged with the main entry door completed in mid January and the rear garden entrance competed in mid February 2017. The dramatic change in revolving door design is tempered by a bronze colour stainless steel cladded finish that helps the doors to seamlessly integrate with the modern Art Deco inspired finishes throughout the newly renovated lobby as well as the maintain timber archways shaping the entrance to the lift lobby. For this lobby refurbishment the glass roof design of the Diamond Series automatic revolving door would not have been possible without record’s experience in mounting the drive system for each door to the underside of the suspended slab. With this design the builder only needed to provide a core hole at the centre of the door with an extended shaft connecting the rotating carousel above, with the drive system below.

In dit kantoorpand konden de ruim 800 werknemers zichzelf met een toegangspassysteem toegang verschaffen tot het gebouw. Het betreden en verlaten van het pand ging via kleine tourniquets met vier deurvleugels. Echter werden deze tourniquets als 'benauwend' en gebruiksonvriendelijk ervaren. Bovendien was dit gevoelige systeem vaak onderhevig aan storingen. Onze opdrachtgever zocht daarom een automatische toegangsoplossing waarbij de bezoekersstromen soepeler verlopen, maar de absolute monitoring en controle van de in- en uitgaande personen gehandhaafd blijft. De oplossing werd gevonden in de vorm van de record R 62 Toegangssluis met intelligent toegangscontrole systeem en een scala aan beveiligingsniveaus. Deze cilindervormige sluis met ronde schuifdeuren biedt een hoogwaardig toegangscontroleniveau voor een volledige beheersing van de personenstroom. De wisselwerking tussen geavanceerde technologie en bewezen bouwkundige technieken maakt een veilige en beveiligde toegangscontrole mogelijk voor kwetsbare en speciaal beschermde gebieden, zoals banken, vliegvelden en soortgelijke omgevingen

From 2005 to 2014 a comprehensive refurbishment program was undertaken, designed by a Group GSA + Hassell Architects. Op 18 juni 2016 vond de feestelijke overdracht van het nieuwe schip de ms. Texelstroom plaats en werd de vlag officieel in top gehesen. Na het officiële gedeelte konden de genodigden een kijkje aan boord nemen. Er vielen veel complimenten te horen over de inrichting en uitstraling van het schip. Het lijkt wel een cruiseschip! Doelde een aandeelhouder op de luxe uitstraling van de veerboot. Expert in toegangsoplossingen voor de maritieme sector record ontwikkelt en installeert al jaren specialistische toegangsoplossingen voor de maritieme sector. Mede hierom heeft TESO record al vroeg in het ontwerpproces betrokken bij de ontwikkeling en bouw van dit prachtige en moderne schip. Zodoende kon record optimaal bijdragen aan dit project en gepast advies geven over functie, regelgeving en ontwerp. Toegankelijkheid, gebruiksgemak & veiligheid De nieuwe TESO-veerboot gaat varen tussen Den Helder en Texel en staat vol met toegangsoplossingen van record; elk met eigen specifieke eigenschappen in functie en esthetiek. Vanwege de hoge passagierscapaciteit zijn de aspecten toegankelijkheid, gebruiksgemak en veiligheid van groot belang. Dit zijn juist de specialisaties waarin record zich onderscheidt. De Texelstroom is een zogenaamde Ro-Ro (Roll on - Roll off) veerboot waar de toegang van voertuigen gescheiden is van de toegang voor fietsers en voetgangers. Voor de soepele en veilige doorgang van voetgangers en fietsers is gekozen voor de installatie van 16 passagierstoegangen met een water gestraald RVS frame en waterdichte record C127 draaideuraandrijving. Voor de deuren naar de trappenhuizen (om op een van de bovendekken te komen) is gekozen voor handbediende brandwerende schuifdeuren met eigenschappen conform de maritieme brandcertificeringseisen (B15 en A30 classificatie). Bij activering van het brandalarm zorgen de contragewichten voor een automatische sluiting van deze deuren. Op de bovendekken zijn de geautomatiseerde brandwerende varianten te vinden, maar ook diverse geautomatiseerde toegangsoplossingen in de vorm van RVS passagierstoegangen met waterdichte draaideuraandrijvingen, diverse schuifdeuren en luxe tourniquets. Voor de tourniquets is gekozen voor een elegant design voorzien van 'collapsible door wings'. Middels deze vluchtwegvoorziening wordt het stijlvolle ontwerp onopvallend gecombineerd met doorgangsveiligheid. Daar waar mogelijk zijn de automatische deuren in de wand schuivend. Dit resulteert in ruimtebesparing en past tevens bij de uitstraling van het schip. Oog voor detail Alle toegangsoplossingen zijn tot in detail uitgewerkt, conform een hoge standaard. De toegang van het mindervalidentoilet bijvoorbeeld is voorzien van een MiVa-schakeling om zo de toegang te vergemakkelijken. Dit laatste hebben wij bijvoorbeeld ook voor Schiphol Airport gerealiseerd. Sinds 7 oktober 2016 is het schip officieel ingezet op de vaarroute tussen Den Helder en Texel. White Bay Cruise Terminal, Sydney

An historic part of Sydney’s working port, with sweeping harbour views from the Harbour Bridge to the the Anzac Bridge, was reinvented in 2013 to create the White Bay Cruise Terminal. To pay homage to this maritime heritage the design of the building incorporates the existing structure from the gantry system originally used for a containerised shipping service in the 1960’s. Products from record Automatic Doors were used exclusively throughout the terminal, including 2 x Fullview revolving doors, 11 x STA 20 automatic sliding doors and a total of 18 x DFA 127 automatic swing doors, which included 8 to the main entry. In this area the operators work in pairs with the right hand door opening before, and closing after, the left hand door. During normal operation on shipping days, the swing doors open via a signal from photo electric sensors mounted on free standing bollards, allowing the doors to open early to accommodate the large traffic flows experienced by the terminal.

With entries from both 161 Castlereagh Street and 242 Pitt Street, ANZ Tower is a 42 storey Premium Grade office building located in the heart of the Sydney CBD. A part of Grocon’s Liberty Place princinct, designed by FJMT, which includes the refurbishment of the historic Legion House, it boasts a 6-Star Green Star Design v2 rating. Four Fullview Series revolving doors were selected to the lobby entries, with special extended clear passage heights of 3350mm and 3600mm to allow the canopy of the doors to be concealed within the portal soffit of the tensile steel glazing above. To allow the white clad portal to span across the entrance without any support posts, the structure of the Fullivew doors were specially engineered to assist in supporting the necessary dead loads. The Melbourne office fitout of finance company Connective, designed by Gray Puksand, is a modern, vibrant and colourful workspace with a generous staff recreation and kitchen space. For the staff only entrance from the lift lobby to this space, record Automatic Doors supplied and installed a heavy duty record STA 22 single sliding automatic door operator, supporting a 240kg aluminium framed sliding door, 2400mm high x 3000mm wide in a black powdercoat finish and three clear laminated glass panels.. Despite the heavy weight of the sliding panel, the door operation is fast, smooth, quiet and safe (as shown in the YouTube video). With the large single sliding door opening into a wall cavity, the operator was custom built to ensure all key components are easily accessible for future servicing requirements, with additional access panels built into the wall also provided. The Daniel Mannix Building is the centrepiece of the Australian Catholic University’s St Patrick’s campus in Melbourne and one of Australia’s premier 6 Star Green Star buildings for teaching, research and learning. Designed using industry leading practices in architecture, engineering and sustainability, the building boasts low environmental impacts but also high levels of comfort and wellbeing for the students and teachers. The two main entries at either end of the building, off Young and Brunswick Streets, were originally built with dual automatic sliding doors however this ineffective airlock resulted in a wind tunnel effect and compromised the effectiveness of the building’s HVAC system. In addition to the two new K21 revolving doors, record was responsible for the demolition of the existing automatic sliding door entries, as well as the installation of adjacent swing doors for disabled access, emergency egress and after hours access, utilising record DFA127 automatic swing door operators. For a university, where large numbers of people can use an entrance in a short amount of time, the K21 revolving door, with an integrated automatic sliding door, is the ideal entrance solution, providing the exibility to alternate between revolving and sliding door modes to suit the time of day, weather conditions and expected traffic flows.

Located in the heart of Sydney’s financial district, 259 George Street is an imposing establishment to the Sydney skyline, offering its tenants breathtaking views of the city and harbour. At the top of this tower is the commercial offices of the building’s owner, Memocorp Australia, and as part of the full refurbishment of this office, record Automatic Doors was selected to install two C 127 infloor mounted automatic swing door operators to the main entry from the lift lobby. In this application, the two operators are linked to allow them to open together from a signal from the card reader in the lift lobby, or push button in the office. Due to the design of the custom steel framed swing doors, one operator is required to open before, and close after, the other operator. Capable of operating swing doors weighing up to 400kg, the record C 127 operator measures 780 x 270 x 150mm deep when encapculated within its special infloor housing which allows the flooring contractor to provide a custom access panel to match the surrounding timber finish. The end result is a striking dual automatic swing door system, providing a secure and accessible entrance for the building occupants.

As part of the redevelopment of The Star in 2011, a new hotel and retail complex was built on a adjacent vacant site. At both entries to the hotel a record Fullview Series 3600mm diameter revolving door was installed to provide the building with an airlocked entry system. These doors are 3650mm high with a 650mm canopy, clad in linished stainless steel, that continues above the frameless glass swing doors on either side. These swing doors have record DFA 127 automatic swing door operators, concealed within the portal, to provide disabled access at the push of a button. To the 4 off main entries to the new retail area at The Star, record supplied and installed automatic bi-parting doors, with frameless glass door wings. For the Jones Bay Road entry, a breakout sliding door was installed, with the glass sidewalls able to be broken out in an emergency to provide a greater clear opening. On the ground floor on Pirrama Road, record also installed two large single sliding automatic doors to the transport interchange. These door wings are aluminium framed in a white powdercoat finish to match the surrounding alucobond cladding.

With the existing main entry sliding doors on Geoge Street, as well as the rear entry off Pitt Street, causing persistent wind problems for hotel staff and guests, the decision was made to replace these sliding doors with revolving doors to achieve airlocked entries to the hotel. In an extensive site operation, the existing sliding doors were removed, along with the highlight glazing which was being supported off the steel transom. Two Fullview revolving doors were then installed to the George Street entry, along with one Fullview door and motorised swing door to the Pitt Street entry. All doors were clad in linihsed stainless steel with custom illuminated canopy signage. To maintain the existing requirement for smoke ventilation in an emergency, each revolving door was tted with an automatic windback door wing to open on a re trip signal. For greater security after hours, the doors were tted with motorised ‘clamshell’ night doors, which are in fact the sidewalls of the doors themselves automatically closing and electrically locking once the door, and associated lighting is turned off.

The new Darling Walk precinct combines a commercial, retail and leisure space with new pedestrian links between Darling Harbour and the city. As the new headquarters for the Commonwealth Bank, the North and South buildings feature automatic revolving, sliding and swing doors by record Automatic Doors. For the main entry to each lobby a 4000mm diameter Diamond Series revolving door was installed. The Diamond Series is record's most frameless glass revolving door, with the entire door structure supported only by glass with the drive motor mounted to the underside of the concrete slab. The large diameter of these doors allows for large groups of people to enter and leave the door at the same time. For the Level 1 entry on the North building, a 2400mm diameter Fullview Series revolving door was installed to provide an alternate access point into the building, whilst still ensuring an air locked facade. As part of the extensive ground floor building refurbishment to the plaza entry of NAB House, record Automatic Doors was engaged to provide a new revolving door entry. This required alteration works to the existing frameless glazing and a new automatic swing door entry, featuring the DFA 127 automatic swing door operator mounted under the slab to allow for a full frameless glass appearance. For the new entry to the bank, a special 4 wing frameless glass automatic sliding door system was developed using the record STA 20 system. Controlled by a key switch, the 9.5m wide entry is designed to fully open in the morning, and then close at night. To provide after hours access, the first sliding door panel can open on a card swipe signal. Completed in 2010, this refurbishment entailed the pre-cast concrete facade being removed and replaced with a new high performance glass facade, new interior tout to all oors, which included modi ed oor plates with new light wells to increase natural light and a new frameless glass assembly to the main entry with two Fullview Series revolving doors. At 2400mm diamater and 3420mm high these linished stainless steel clad revolving doors provide a striking and tall entrance feature to complement the frameless glazing and feature wall claddings on either side.

In an effort to attract new tenants after Macquarie Bank moved into their own building, the previous home of the Sydney Stock Exchange underwent a signicant facelift to reinvigorate the building as one of Sydney’s premier office locations. As part of this redevelopment, record Automatic Doors was responsible for the supply and installation of a Crystal Series glass roof revolving door and 3 record STA 20 automatic sliding door entrances. The new glass lobby box starts at the building line on the George Street side of the building, 10m long and 7m high, with a sliding door entrance for disabled access and emergency egress. The sliding door is supported off a steel beam suspended between the two adjacent steel mullions with a linished stainless steel pelmet. On the Bond Street elevation, a 3600mm diameter Crystal Series automatic revolving door is the main entrance to the building lobby. Featuring a glass roof and steel portal frame, this revolving door is the perfect accompaniment to the glass box and provides the commercial lobby with an impressive main entrance. Further along this facade is a second automatic sliding door for the entrance to Fitness First, with glass balustrading installed to the stairs leading down. Returning onto the Pitt Street elevation is another 10m long facade of various heights, with stairs leading up to another automatic sliding door entrance.

Villa Vivante is een specialist in bloemen, planten en woondecoraties. Zij zijn gevestigd in winkelcentrum 'De Leim' in Heer-Maastricht, waar men op 200m2 een zeer ruim assortiment snijbloemen en woondecoraties kan vinden. Tevens worden diensten aangeboden zoals abonnementen, bezorging op locatie en beschikken zij over een webshop. Zij hebben speciaal voor hun klanten de entree laten aanpassen. De verplaatsting, verbreding en automatisering van de ingang heeft geresulteerd in een meer open uitstraling, waarbij ook de functionaliteit en gebruikersgemak zijn verbeterd. Voorheen hadden wij de ingang op de hoek van een pand, een gewone deur. Dit had enkele praktische maar ook esthetische nadelen. Zo was de deur te smal voor levering van o.a. grotere pallets en veilingkarren. In de winter konden we i.v.m. de kou de deur niet open laten staan, maar dat was natuurlijk erg onhandig voor de klant, hij/zij moest immers met de handen vol de zware deur ook nog handmatig openen. Daarbij vonden wij doordat de ingang op de hoek was, wij niet echt betrokken waren bij de rest van het winkelcentrum. Onze wens was dan ook dat de ingang praktischer en laagdrempeliger werd voor een betere inloop. Met de eigenaar van de winkelruimte zijn we in contact getreden over een mogelijk oplossing en we waren het er vrij snel over eens dat grote automatische schuifdeuren de oplossing zou zijn. Om alles goed in het straat -en winkel beeld te integreren is er een architect gekomen om alles netjes in te tekenen, 2 maanden later, net voor de bouwvak is er begonnen met de werkzaamheden. Bijna 2 maanden eerder dan gepland, aanvankelijk zou er pas in september worden begonnen, een meevaller dus. Eerst werden de oude kozijnen verwijderd evenals de borstwering, dit werd keurig voor openingstijd gedaan zodat de klanten geen last hadden van al dat breekwerk. Ook werd de oude deur verwijderd om plaats te maken voor mooie grote ramen. Wij hebben het als positief ervaren dat de toegang voor de klant ten alle tijden gegarandeerd bleef en dat we prima hebben kunnen doorwerken, ook werd alles keurig netjes meteen opgeruimd en werd er alles aan gedaan om de overlast tot een minimum te beperken. De dag erna zijn de schuifdeuren geplaatst, wat ook erg snel afgerond was. Vroeg in de middag was alles klaar en netjes opgeruimd. De automatisering van de deuren werd door record Automatische Deuren verzorgd. Nadat de deuren geinstalleerd waren hebben zij de deuraandrijving snel en vakkundig aangebracht en ingesteld. De werking en bediening is netjes aan ons uitgelegd. De bediening van deze deuren is zeer gebruiksvriendelijk en is voorzien van verschillende functies, Zo kan de deur met wind en kou beperkter geopend worden en is eenrichtingsverkeer ook mogelijk. To help Sydney safely accommodate the ever increasing demand from some of the world’s largest cruise ships, an extensive renovation was undertaken to the existing Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay. Part of the design brief was a requirement for large frameless glass sliding doors to three of the building’s elevations to facilitate not only normal passenger movement, but also emergency egress requirements. record Automatic Doors supplied and installed 16 automatic bi-parting sliding door operators, with 15mm low iron toughened glass door panels. The typical opening size for each sliding door was 3000mm high x 3000mm wide for a total door weight of 340kg, requiring dual motor STA 20 single sliding door operators that are synchronised to create a bi-parting door opening. For the East Elevation sliding doors, which are exposed to strong wind gusts from Sydney Harbour, a specially designed continuous floor guide was installed flush to the finished floor with a bottom rail to the door wings. To the main entry sliding doors on the West and South Elevations a custom stainless steel clad plywood pelmet was fabricated to tie in the sliding door operators with the 250mm deep mullions from the surrounding operable glass louvre facade.

For International Towers 3 at Barangaroo, record Automatic Doors was responsible for a total of 7 revolving doors, including 4 of the largest Diamond Series doors ever built at 4000mm diameter x 3900mm high, installed to the South Lobby The scale of these doors provides an imposing architectural feature of the podium lobby works and complements the height of the main entry cantilevered glass awning. A smaller Diamond door was also provided to the cafe entry. Due to the size and weight of the carousel, these doors could only be provided with a 3 wing carousel however the larger segment spaces this design provides results in a spacious and safe revolving door entrance able to accommodate the expected heavy traffic flows. To the North Lobby entrance, record installed two Diamond Series revolving doors, 4000mm diameter x 3000mm high. The full frameless glass design of the Diamond Series, made possible by the glass sidewalls being designed to support the dead load of the glass roof, allows the doors to complement the frameless appearance of the striking surrounding glass assembly and atrium. For these doors the drive motors were mounted in a pit within the floor slab, with removable access panels in the floor for general service and maintenance. A custom stainless steel floor ring was developed to not only provide a clear separation of internal and external floor finishes, as well as a glazing channel for the frameless glass sidewalls, but also to house a recessed LED light strip feature in the floor. The doors are clad in linished stainless steel to match the surrounding finishes and the press to slow buttons and mode key switches are mounted on free standing stainless steel bollards at both entries. For disabled and after hours access, record also installed 16 of its infloor mounted C 127 automatic swing door operators to the main lobby entries, retail tenancies and food court areas. The C 127 empowers building designers with the ability to provide automatic swing door entries, necessary to meet disabled access requirements, in addition to emergency egress and after hours access requirements, without the need for visible transoms above the swing door that can detract from the architecturally designed appearance of the entries. For the North Lobby doors, this allowed for clean frameless glass highlights above the doors and at the South Lobby a stainless steel soffit was designed without any visible linkage arms from the operator to the door, or access panels that could cheapen the appearance. All doors are activated by push buttons on either side and locked via electric strikes mounted at the door jambs. Internal lever handles also allow the doors to be opened manually and service access to the C 127 operator is via special removable stone inlay panels to provide a seamless floor design.

Originally completed in 1989, the Harry Seidler designed landmark office tower at 9 Castlereagh Street undertook a significant upgrade to the lobby entry 20 years later after being acquired by the Stockland Property Group. The unique glass vaulted roof and surrounding gardens were replaced with a grand frameless glass lobby facade spanning across the full width of the site and for the main entrance a curved glass sliding door system was selected to provide a striking yet practical entrance to the lobby, capable of meeting disabled access and emergency egress requirements. record Automatic Doors was selected to custom design and build the unique glass roof entrance with a single roof panel of 21.52mm toughened laminated glass supported in the middle by a tensile stainless steel rod braced back to the mullion above the door. The record RST 20 curved sliding door operator was mounted within a cutout in the concrete slab provided by the builder with the top of the curved sliding door panels supported at the head by a fabricated stainless steel door track. The curved stainless steel box section around the perimeter roof not only acts to support the glass roof but also conceal the activation and safety sensors.

On the 22nd June 2016, a new 37 storey premium grade landmark building, designed by architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, was opened with two record Diamond Series revolving doors at the main lobby entrance. Considered one of Sydney’s finest commercial properties, 200 George Street has an organic and natural aesthetic, derived from an emphasis on using more traditional building materials such as timber and sandstone, combined with an innovative curtain wall facade incorporating automated timber blinds that adjust to suit the position of the sun. This has made it one of Australia’s most technologically advanced and sustainable properties, boasting a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Buildings Council of Australia. For the ground floor lobby, maintaining an airlock into the foyer was considered very important and to complement the bold design of the main entry timber clad feature awning, the Diamond Series frameless glass roof door from record Automatic Doors was selected. To create a striking and elegant door entrance, an extended height of 3650mm was designed with special toughened laminated glass required to the roof to meet the requirements of AS1288. Working with Empire Glass, record Automatic Doors also supplied and installed three C 127 in floor mounted automatic operators to the main and side entries. The doors are secured by an electromagnetic lock mounted to the underside of a slimline stainless steel transom member above the door. For access to the operator, a stainless steel access panel was screw fixed into the C127’s in floor mounted enclosure. The pivot doors feature linished stainless steel top and bottom door rails which are necessary for connections to the operator spindle at the bottom of the door and the mag lock at the head.

The Shard Shopping Arcade comprises six retail units and nine kiosks/retail bays offering more than 8,250 sq ft of space. The Shopping Arcade sits directly on the pedestrian route between London Bridge underground station and the main entrances to The Shard and The News Building, where hundreds of city professionals are based. The Shopping Arcade was designed by The Shard architect Renzo Piano and has floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout and provides the retail units with unique sizing configurations that ensure each brand has its own bespoke space. One set of existing entrance doors were replaced in an effort to combat the wind tunnel effect that existed. record automatic telescopic sliding doors (TSA 20) were installed which controlled the space opening and the length of time the doors were open to provide an effective solution. At a second entrance a record manual swing door and record automatic sliding doors were installed (STA 20). The architects on this project were Adamson Associates and a pleasant draft free shopping environment has been restored.

This is an installation of the record uk telescopic TSA 20 at the Tesco store in Rugby. The store required an entrance capable of allowing the safe passage of large numbers of people at one time, and at the same time not leave the entrance open to the elements for unduly long periods. This was achieved by the installation of automatic folding doors at both sides of the wide entrance, thus allowing maximum access while mimimising rapid ingress of cold air and dicomfort for customers and staff.
